As an independent non-profit media organization, Factjaja takes a deliberate and strategic approach when identifying claims to verify.

Social media platforms are among the most common sources of both true and false claims. These assertions often emerge through tweets on Twitter (now X), Facebook posts, viral WhatsApp messages, and other online formats.

We also monitor claims made in public speeches and posts on Instagram, YouTube, blogs, and various websites. Using our digital monitoring tools, we pay close attention to trending topics and content that sparks public reactions.

In addition to these methods, Factjaja actively engages with different communities on social media to surface questionable content, suspected falsehoods, and misleading narratives.

However, in gathering such claims, we are cautious not to amplify obscure content. Claims or tweets from users with minimal reach are often archived rather than fact-checked immediately, unless they show signs of going viral.

We also invite the public to submit claims for verification via email at info@factjaja.org or through our dedicated WhatsApp line. Our team reviews these submissions and prioritizes the most impactful ones for fact-checking.

As an independent and non-profit media organization, Factjaja adopts a thoughtful and targeted approach when identifying claims for verification.

We recognize that social media platforms are primary sources of both accurate and misleading information. Claims often appear as tweets on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook posts, viral WhatsApp messages, and other formats circulating online.

Additionally, we monitor public speeches and content shared on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, websites, and blogs. Using digital monitoring tools, we prioritize trending topics and posts that generate significant engagement or public reaction.

Beyond passive monitoring, Factjaja actively connects with various online communities to track emerging narratives, detect potential falsehoods, and identify suspicious or misleading content.

However, we are careful not to give unnecessary attention to obscure or low-impact content. Claims from individuals with limited reach or small followings are usually documented but not immediately verified, to avoid unintentionally amplifying them.

We also welcome public participation. Readers can submit claims via email at info@factjaja.org or through our official WhatsApp number. Our editorial team reviews submissions and selects those with the most relevance or impact for verification.

Our commitment to transparency and accuracy drives us to use clear, consistent, and non-ambiguous ratings when publishing our fact-check reports.

Once a claim has been thoroughly investigated and verified through rigorous research, we assign a verdict that accurately reflects the outcome of our findings.

Below is an overview of our Fact Gauge Meter rating system:

 True

The central claim is factually accurate, and no significant information is missing or misleading.

Mostly True

The core of the claim is correct, but it may require some clarification, as certain supporting details could be inaccurate or lack full context.

 Half True

The statement contains a mix of accurate and inaccurate elements, making it too balanced between truth and falsehood to be definitively categorized as either.

 False

The primary assertion in the claim is factually incorrect and can be reliably disproven based on available evidence.

Mostly False

Although a few peripheral details may be correct, the main claim is substantially inaccurate or misleading.

Miscaptioned / Misleading

This rating is used when genuine content—such as photos, videos, quotes, infographics, or data—is taken out of context, manipulated, or presented in a way that distorts its original meaning.

Unproven / Inconclusive

At the time of publication, there is insufficient publicly available evidence to confirm or deny the claim. More time and investigation may be needed to reach a definitive conclusion.

At Factjaja, we are committed to transparency and accountability in how we operate and fund our activities. As a non-profit and non-partisan fact-checking organization, we believe that the trust of the public, our readers, and our partners is built not only on the accuracy of our content but also on the openness of our operations.

At Factjaja, we are committed to accuracy, transparency, and accountability. Where credible evidence is provided and an error requiring correction is identified, we shall promptly correct the mistake, offer an apology if necessary, and republish the revised version of the fact-check or article.

We will clarify, correct, or update the story as appropriate. In the spirit of transparency, we will clearly explain what the correction entails, why it was made, and when it was implemented.

If you believe that any of our publications are biased, lack evidence, or fall short of the principles of balance, transparency, or truth, we encourage you to contact us directly through any of our official communication channels. While you are free to report any violation to the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) without prior approval, we hope you will give us the opportunity to address any concerns and make timely corrections where necessary.

Our research, writing, and editing processes follow a rigorous multi-step verification framework. Each claim we review undergoes careful vetting to ensure that our findings are grounded in solid evidence—either in support of or in refutation of the original claim.
Before publication, every article is subjected to a mandatory standards review. This final editorial check ensures that our work aligns with Factjaja’s internal protocols for truthfulness, clarity, balance, and public accountability.

We aim to build a culture of fact-checking by improving public knowledge and maintaining a trusted online platform that archives verified and reliable information. All sources used in our reports are cited so readers can verify them independently.

At Factjaja, we evaluate claims made by public figures across all sectors, without bias or preference based on political affiliation, ideology, race, religion, gender, or any other identity.

We focus solely on verifiable statements, not opinions or promises, unless those are backed by publicly available data or factual evidence. For example, political pledges or personal views are not fact-checked unless they include elements that can be verified.

In line with our editorial policy, we do not investigate allegations of corruption. Such cases fall under the jurisdiction of law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies.

Factjaja also maintains a strict policy against using anonymous sources. We aim for transparency by identifying and citing all our sources. When we consult experts, we do so for factual clarity—not for personal viewpoints or speculative commentary.

We refrain from issuing personal opinions in our reports. Factjaja does not support or oppose any ideology, political party, or campaign. Our focus is solely on the accuracy of the claim itself, not on the individual or institution making the statement. We assess the statement — not the speaker.
