FactJaja International Foundation was established in 2022 with a mission to combat misinformation, disinformation, hate speech, and generative AI deep-fakes by verifying claims and promoting accurate information across politics, health, economics, and social issues in Uganda and the Great Lakes region of East Africa. 

We use a combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a team of experienced fact-checkers to run our the fact-checking process while we prioritising the use of local language models to effectively communicate and address harmful information, ensuring it reaches vulnerable communities.

Partners:  Factajaja is a member of Global Forum for Media Development-GFMD and Investigative Reseachers and Editor -IRE who are crucial for data sources and collaboration, Factjaja also collaborate of Independent Media Organisations, Journalists, civil Societies and Communities. 

Objectives:

– Combating Dis-Misinformation among Vulnerable people.
– Enhancing democratic processes among Vulnerable Communities during and after and before Elections.
– Educate the masses about Deep fake and Generative Ai content and how to protect against.
– Promote Media Literacy among local journalists, bloggers and local leaders
