Since the beginning of 2024, posts and screenshots have circulated on social media in Uganda, claiming that UNICEF is running a financial scheme providing money, which requires registration fees.
Following the link via a facebook account that leds a US Code to Westchester New York with generates an automated welcome message:

Upon Yes, you have to answer few questions such as Name, Phone Number and Country of Origin followed by the list of Amount that you need which are also attached to registration fees.

Factjaja contacted Edmond Mwebembezi, MPH, UNICEF Communications Officer , who was classfied it as HOAX.
By systematically investigating the claim, verifying through official sources, analyzing technical details, and effectively communicating the findings, UNICEF FinaNcial scheme is a SCAM.
