According to a statement released by the Uganda Police, only one person was confirmed dead and six others injured following the fatal crash, which occurred at approximately 5:45 PM at Lwafumu Forest along the Bunjako–Buwama road in Mpigi District.
Police reports indicate that the crash was caused by a speeding and reckless driver who was carrying passengers in an unsafe manner. The vehicle overturned after the driver lost control, hit a pavement, and then fled the scene. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
